Better Homes and Gardens ORGANIZED magazine...
So this past Sunday... I ran up to my local grocery store to pick up a
few things for dinner... I remembered that my organizer gal pal Brandie showed me her recent edition of the Better Homes and Garden's Organized magazine... so of course I had to pick up an issue for myself. After
a really good dinner of tacos and margarita's... and a little bit of
back yard fun with the family, I got the kids ready for bed, read a few
stories and plopped myself down onto the sofa. With ice tea in hand...
a cool breeze blowing through the windows and my freshly clean BHG Organized magazine. The spine hadn't even been cracked and I made my first crease.
Before opening to the first page, I quickly did the "shake..." Do you know what the shake is? When you get a magazine the first thing you should do is take the magazine by the spine and shake it out... all those irritating little mailer cards will fall out. This way, as you are perusing the magazine they won't fall out into your lap and interrupt your reading.
The first thing I noticed as I was reading was that they did a great job with the "experts" they consulted. Donna Smallin, Julie Morgenstern are just two offered some great tips, suggestions and advice. Both organizers are members of NAPO, but are also published authors on organizing.
I
love this magazine for the simplicity they use in all the spaces. They
discuss common problems, areas that become cluttered without even
trying and ways to simplify our living. This type of magazine can
become one of my most used. Last year (or maybe the year before) when
the issue came out I had to take it to Kinko's to have it bound I used
it so much.
If you are in a doctor's office or
maybe your dentist and you see this magazine sitting... snag it -
browse the pages of beautiful products and ideas to keep our lives
simple!
