Why Scrap?
Last Monday while I was relaxing on my sofa I was reading the current issue of scrapbook, etc., oh wait... it was Creating Keepsake....
(I know you are thinking... what the heck... how many magazines on
scrapbooking can one person read... me... FOUR... yeah baby!!!! )
Anyway... there was a great article in there about how scrapbooking is all about defining your style.
It's funny to me how I came into (this sometimes an obsession) scrapbooking... but what is even more interesting is how it relates so much to me and my personality and.... style.
Style... such a funny word. Each person can interpret style to just about anything in your life. Each page that I create reflects my style for that day... the mood I am in and overall how I am feeling. Some days I can put hours into one single page, while other days I can be so motivated to crank through five to seven pages in one sitting (of course that's many hours in one sitting, but no less one sitting).
Most times I try to include every detail of the event I am working on along with journaling just what was the mood and setting for that day... sometimes I can even document what was said.
Some days I am in the mood to just mish-mash odds and ends of left over embellishments just to get rid of them and get them on a page... and just get the pages done. The pages aren't as pretty, but I like to call that "Altered" work... while other days I can have every single thing match... right down to that shades of pink used... (Sarah... that one was for you girlfriend!).
Some days I sit down to work... and I am just not inspired... so I get engrossed into something like sorting through letters, buttons or maybe stickers.
How does this differ from the style of organizing? It doesn't!!!!
Being organized doesn't have to be perfect every single day. It doesn't mean we all have to have a house that looks like a coffee table book. We all have a style that defines who we are and what we love. The most important thing is to actually define what our style is and living within those boundaries helps us to maintain being organized. It doesn't have to be complicated, it doesn't have to match and it doesn't have to be hard.
Can you tell me..... What is your style?
