Ready or not... the organizers are coming...
So... have you ever invited an entire group of organizers to your home?
No pressure there huh? Well, last night I had the privilege to attend
our summer picnic for our local Oregon Chapter of NAPO.
Tell me that our host wasn't feeling a little under the spot light? It
was so lovely... and I don't use that word often but it really was.
Our events are lots of fun and a great way to get to meet new members and socialize with members without the pressure of meeting agendas. As we like to say... "it's all about the food!"
After filling our bellies with delicious treats and wonderful conversation we have a "topic" of discussion. It can be anything from sharing information about our business, personal favorites but this year it was sharing our own clutter issues.
Tell me you are not wondering what organizers could possibly have struggles with. Well, as I have said before... we are people too! It was so awesome to hear some of the common threads that were said. Here are just a few excerpts that I picked up on that I think most of us can appreciate:
"... I always stuggle with paper... it takes so much time to manage."
"... time is always a challenge. It' seems like I manage to miss something on my calendar.
"... sharing spaces with others in the household. Just when I get things organized, someone else messes things up."
"... I have piles of good intentions..."
I know that we all can appreciate that we all have struggles. What is nice about this is that you can see ... even as organizers... we are people too. The difference is acknowledging that we have our weak spots. Knowing that they need to managed, and prioritizing them on the list so that things get done.
