September is Emergency Preparedness Month

Did you know that September is Emergency Preparedness Month?

Recently, I took my kids to a "big truck" show where local city and county departments brought their big rigs for the kids to climb on and learn about what they do. It was super cool!

At the event I received a packet of information on Emergency Preparedness... as I looked through the information, the one thing that stuck out to me was a Preparedness Calendar. For those of us that are clearly not prepared for an emergency, this really broke down the task of getting prepared. This got me thinking... so I thought I would Google Preparedness Calendar, would you believe that I got 1,830,000 hits... crazy... huh!

The City of Gresham had a really nice monthly breakdown of things to buy (or compile) and activities to do over the course of 12 months. It starts with the basic and then gets more detailed and specific on getting prepared.

I live in an active volcanic range... so being prepared should be on the top of my list... right? Are you prepared?
