Preperation Ideas for Turkey Day...

So, the day is officially two weeks and two days away. I have just cracked my cookbooks and started preparing for the big day. We are having family over here (only an additional three so not too bad) but I am really wanting some good yummy food to last us all weekend! Last year our leftovers were gone by Friday noon and I was a little bummed... so the bigger the turkey the better this year!

Here are my preparation ideas for assuring that the day is a complete success (along with some yummy leftovers):
  1. Meal Preparation
    1. pick menu items assuring that we have lots of everything and won't be too much work on the big day
    2. talk to my guests about what they are wanting to bring
  2. Shopping
    1. make my shopping lists for the meal and centerpiece items needed
    2. try and pick up the dry items on my next grocery trip
    3. plan a day this coming week to get to the craft store
  3. Table Centerpieces
    1. pick a project for the kids to do for the table
    2. plan something that is simple from my saved project idea books
  4. Entertainment
    1. find a good holiday movie to watch (get it in the Netflix queue)
  5. House Cleaning
    1. self explanatory :)
It's funny, I have been reading some of my favorite bloggers and most all of them have gotten their holiday simplification ideas out there... I almost feel behind...

By the way, I do want to thank all of you for reading my blog. I am grateful for so many things (stay tune for my gratitude posts next week) but I do think it's important that you know I am grateful for you. Thanks!
