FRIDAY FINDS: Vazu Flower Vase
A friend of mine came over last weekend and brought me flowers with this amazing vase. Never having seen this before, I was intrigued by what it was all about... so of course, what did I do... check the web.

Vazu makes these amazing colorful vases that are made of plastic. When they are not in use, they fold up flat and can be stored in a drawer.
They retail anywhere from $4.99-$9.99.
What I was really drawn to was their Green Statement, it reads:
The Vazu™ is an environmentally preferred product compared to a traditional glass vase, due to a far lower full lifecycle impact on the environment and human health (in terms of energy and natural resource usage, as well as carbon emissions).
Materials:
The Vazu™ material (thin layers of polyethylene and polyester) takes much less energy to produce than glass. Common glass has a melting point temperature of 2700 degrees (F), and a working point temperature of 2000 degrees (F). Polyethylene has a melting point of 220-260 degrees (F) and polyester has a melting point of 490 degrees (F). *Figures from Wikipedia May 29, 2008
Further, much of the common glass used today is manufactured in developing countries with limited environmental law standards and enforcement. The Vazu™ is manufactured in a country known for strong and enforced environmental standards.
How cool is that. You can check out their website to find a retailer (we have one here in Hood River apparently) or you can shop online! Great holiday gift idea!

These vases are great! They look really cool in my apartment and are a great way to spice up a room. I just bought some at www.coolil.com.
This is a fabulous idea! I love it!!
