Are you a ripper or a clipper?

Do you rip out pages from magazines or do you clip out the articles?

Personally, I am ripper. I rip pages out that have information that I want to research, look up, order or blog about. I read a lot of magazines and I have a file folder on my desk of things that need to be "acted" upon. For years, some mags have been posting certain articles online that you can save, bookmark or file in a special member file box. Which is nice.

If you read mags... have you noticed more and more mags are going to an entire digital version. Can I tell you how much I love that! ReadyMade and Family Fun are just a few that have gone to a complete digital version. Why is this important you ask?

1. Saves you (me) from ripping pages out, instead you can bookmark into a digital file or version.
2. Find ALL articles, instead of just a select few.
3. Easily share information, articles and ideas with friends!

It makes it easy to search for projects, ideas of designs that you see and say... "I would love to make that when..."

Often, I see things that I like, kitchen designs, paint colors, craft ideas, home DIY projects... the list goes on.

I bet you are wondering... do you ever go back and use the things you rip out? HECK YES! On days when the kids are bored and we need something to do, I reference my file. On days when I have enough time and energy to think about painting my kitchen, I look back to those colors I like.

The important thing is to have them organized in a fashion that works for you. As I mentioned, I have a file on my desk of things that I want to look up or need to be "acted" upon, however, the idea pages go somewhere else.

I have two binders, one is for me, the other is for my kids. Each one has tabbed sections based on various categories with plastic sleeves filling each section. I can then just slip the ripped page into the sleeves and put the binder back on the shelf for when I need it. Occasionally, I will go back and clean out the binder if it is looking too full (that really doesn't happen that often though).

I am hoping that someday we can go completely to digital magazines... Less is always more in my opinion.
