Why vote?


Last night, my husband and I sat down and cast our ballots in this very important election (I love Oregon) year.  It's amazing to think just how important this election is... So many things in the balance!

In less than one week, we will have a newly elected President of the United States. It got me thinking about why I should tell people to make sure and vote!

Dogpile has a list of ten reasons why you should vote, all of which are so important. The reason I like best is that "... it's my tax money..."

There are two things you can count on in life, paying taxes and dying. Why not ensure your tax money is going where you want it to go.

Rock the Vote has ran some really hip and catchy commercials and ads in magazines. The one that caught my attention was an ad with Christina Aguilera. In the ad she is holding her infant son Max (can you tell why I might be partial to it). At the bottom of the page, the headline read something to the effect of "we all hold our future in our hands, so vote!"

So often we hear people complaining about our government, what they are doing wrong and what they aren't doing for us... are those complaining, registered voters?

If you are a registered voter, get out there and vote! YOU COUNT!!!
