Making the most of a snow day... 10 Things To-Do!

So many of us here in the Pacific Northwest are facing crazy amounts of snow and some ice... People in the PNW don't react to snow like they do in the Midwest... in their defense, IT'S NOT THE SAME!!! Not to mention, you don't want to be out on the roads with people who don't know how to drive in the snow...

I love it! I am armed with my studded tires and I can tackle the word... I can drive in the snow!!! However, for those of you who are stuck and home reading blogs and watching Oprah... here are ten things you can do to be productive on this "snow day."

1. Sort through magazines and junk mail. You can read them and toss in the recycling bin.
2. Tackle the bathroom closet. Check expiration dates and empty packages.
3. Clean out your purse or wallet (for you male readers...).
4. Bake some cookies... it's still the holidays... all you need is butter, flour and some vanilla and you're set!
5. Wrap some gifts. It's the perfect time... potentially no one is home and if someone is, enlist help!
6. Sort through photos. This is a great time to start a project... spread out on the floor and start sorting!
7. Check to make sure your home is winter ready. This is something that we forget and can potentially save us some extra cash!
8. Write some holiday cards. There isn't a deadline for sending some cheer to family and friends...
9. Clean out your car. We always forget to toss out all the trash and extra stuff we accumulate, not to mention make sure you have your emergency kit with you!
10. Check on your elderly neighbors or family members... This is so important... I just did this today and she was so appreciative of the kind gesture... after all, it is the holidays.

If anything else, just relax and watch the snow fall! Enjoy!

So what did you get done girlie? It was 70 and balmy in Atlanta. But all these ideas are great for activities while school is out for winter break too.

I actually was fairly productive. I got the laundry done, cleaned out the pantry and vacuumed the house. We also managed to get outside and play in the snow for like an hour and shoveled the foot of new snow.

70 and balmy... sounds nice! One of these days I am going south for the winter... I will say that I am getting a little bored with Candy Land!
