Menu Planning: Clipping coupons for our troops

Not really a big deal, right? Well, since they started this project back in 2006, they have sent over $1M dollars in coupons to our military families oversees! Amazing right!!!
I am all for coupon clipping, especially for people worth the "clip!" This past week, I saved $13 in one trip to Walgreen's for two boxes of oatmeal, shampoo, canned mushrooms and toothpaste. I only spent $4.25... I know, weird shopping combination, but a huge savings for those day to day items!
Our local paper had an article this Sunday on ways to save money at the store, ironically... it was four great blogs who graciously share the wealth! This weeks meal plan revolves around simplicity. I have used up so many of my recent recipes and the kids have been asking for some of the oldies but goodies for dinner...
MY MENU
Stuffed burgers with baked fries
Chicken baked ziti
Breaded Pork Chops with cheesy broccoli
Turkey Chili with cornbread

Sending coupons to our military families overseas is a great way to show your support for them!!! I've been the chairperson of a local coupon project and it's very rewarding when I receive emails from the wives that I send coupons to. They are just so appreciative of them!!
www.Couponstotroops.com is a website that has great information for anyone wanting to know how to get started with sending coupons overseas.
Thanks Lesley for sharing this resource! You are totally right... support even in the smallest ways can make the biggest difference! Hope you have a great day!
